How to Read

A few days ago, I was going through my Goodreads and I was taken aback by how many books I started but hadn't finished. I started to tell myself that I should finish these books before moving on to new ones, but then I thought. Why? If I don't like a TV show, I don't force myself to finish that.

Sorry for taking a gap from writing for the past little bit. Life got busy and it became difficult to get back into the swing of writing. So I thought I would start out small again.  A brief update, a couple of things for you all to check out as well as a bit of reflecting.


I have done a fair amount of reading in the past little while. One of my favourite books on this list has been Then the Fish Swallowed Him.

The book centres around a bus driver in Iran who is being interrogated for his part in organizing a protest for increasing bus driver pay. The plot isn't anything to write home about but Arian's writing is truly captivating, truly very imaginative in its imagery. I really liked it.

A brief reflection on reading.

A few days ago, I was going through my Goodreads and I was taken aback by how many books I started but hadn't finished. I started to tell myself that I should finish these books before moving on to new ones, but then I thought. Why?

If I don't like a TV show, I don't force myself to finish that.

And honestly, most books nowadays, especially those that purport to help you lead a better, more informed life, largely divulge their main ideas in the first few chapters anyways.


I honestly think that this is it. I have nothing else to write about. Thank you for tuning in.
